Ensure ads don't promote activity banned by law: Centre to broadcasters

Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has issued advisory to all private satellite TV channels to ensure advertisements don't promote any activity that is prohibited by statute or law. Mentioning that ads on online gaming and fantasy sports "appear to be misleading", the ministry said, "All broadcasters are advised that Advertising Standards Council of India guidelines are complied with."
