Ensure violence free, fearless polls in Bengal: EC to officials

Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar instructed officials to conduct a free, fair, transparent and impartial conduct of elections in West Bengal. The Election Commission stressed that the process must be free from fear, violence, intimidation, inducements, booth-capturing or disruption. The directive follows the recent incident in Malda where seven judicial officers were held hostage.
