EPFO’s CITES system fails to deliver faster claims, delays exceed 20 days

EPFO's Centralised IT Enabled System (CITES), introduced to reduce claim settlement time to 2-3 days, has faced delays with pendency exceeding 20 days, the EPF Officers' Association said. The body sought Labour Minister's intervention, citing inadequate IT infrastructure and staff shortages. It also flagged EPFO's inability to recruit a full-time chief technology officer for the past three years.
