Epidemic Diseases Act extended for 3 months in UP: Govt official

Additional Chief Secretary (Health) of Uttar Pradesh, Amit Mohan Prasad said that the Epidemic Diseases Act, 1897, has been extended in the state for three months. While speaking to ANI, Prasad said the Act has been in effect since the pandemic's start. "With the surge in COVID-19 cases, the [Act] will now be implemented till March 31, 2022," Prasad said.
