ESA new 'phone line' can hear missions from millions of kms away

European Space Agency has a new antenna, New Norcia 3 and can capture signals from distant spacecraft. It's being dubbed as ESA's “space phone line.” The antenna uses cryogenically cooled systems to detect faint signals and can receive messages from spacecraft millions of kilometres away. The antenna reportedly allows commands to be sent instantly for emergencies or mission adjustments.
