Bill Rasmussen, who co-founded ESPN with his son Scott, passed away aged 93. ESPN said he died at his Florida home from the effects of Parkinson's disease. Rasmussen and his son Scott developed the idea of a 24-hour sports network in 1978, with ESPN launching on September 7, 1979.
