'Essex girl' removed from dictionary after women call it 'offensive'

The expression 'Essex girl' has been removed from Oxford Advanced Learner's Dictionary following a campaign by women who called it "very offensive". Oxford University Press previously defined it as: "A name used especially in jokes to refer to a type of young woman who isn't intelligent, dresses badly, talks in a loud and ugly way and...very willing to have sex."
