Ethylene Glycol found in paediatric syrup, Telangana issues alert

The Drugs Control Administration (DCA), Telangana, on Friday issued a “Stop Use Notice” after a laboratory report declared Almont-Kid Syrup adulterated with Ethylene Glycol (EG), a highly toxic substance. The alert follows information received from the CDSCO, Kolkata. The contaminated product has been identified as Almont-Kid Syrup (Levocetirizine Dihydrochloride and Montelukast Sodium Syrup).
