EU Commission HQ shuts AC on floors where lower rank officials sit amid heatwave
Amid severe heatwave, European Commission's headquarters shut down air conditioning on floors 1-7, where lower-ranking officials sit. In 13-storey building, Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and most senior officials have offices on floors 8 and above. Employees on the lower floors called it "feudalism" and a "disgrace". The European Parliament also faced power outages amid heavy AC use.
