EU indefinitely freezes Russian assets worth ₹22 lakh crore

The European Union has indefinitely frozen Russian central bank assets held in Europe to help Ukraine defend itself against Russia. EU has immobilised $246 billion (₹22 lakh crore) until "there's no longer an immediate threat to the economic interests of the Union". However, Russia's central bank said that EU's plans were "illegal" and they have right to protect their interests.
