EU regulator approves Novavax's COVID-19 vaccine for use in bloc

The European Medicines Agency (EMA) on Monday approved the fifth COVID-19 vaccine for use in the European Union (EU). The EMA granted conditional marketing authorisation to the two-dose vaccine made by US biotech company Novavax. Last week, the World Health Organization (WHO) had approved the vaccine for emergency use, making it the ninth vaccine to receive such approval.
