EU sanctions Israeli settlers in West Bank, Hamas leaders

The European Union on Monday formally approved sanctions against Israeli settlers who committed acts of violence against Palestinians in West Bank, after Hungary dropped its veto. They also agreed to sanction leading Hamas figures. "Extremisms and violence carry consequences," said EU diplomat Kaja Kallas. Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa'ar condemned the move, calling it "without any basis".
