Europe has become the fastest-warming continent on Earth, with temperatures rising at twice the global average rate since the 1980s, a study by the EU’s Copernicus Climate Change Service said. Europe has warmed by around 0.53°C per decade since the mid-1990s. The report said shifts in atmospheric circulation are causing more frequent and intense summer heatwaves across Europe.
