Europe issues new camera guidelines to prevent sexualisation of women athletes

The EBU and European Athletics have introduced new camera guidelines for coverage of women’s athletics. Broadcasters have been urged to avoid lingering close-ups, low-angle shots from behind or below athletes and slow-motion replays offering no technical value. The guidelines follow feedback from athletes, including Olympians, who said certain camera shots can cause discomfort and distractions.
