Europe's Proba-3 captures three solar eruptions within five hours

A new time-lapse from ESA's Proba-3 mission showed the Sun's inner corona glowing faint yellow during artificial solar eclipses in orbit. Captured by the ASPIICS coronagraph, it revealed three rare prominence eruptions within five hours in September 2025. "The corona is extremely hot, about two hundred times hotter than the Sun's surface," Principal Investigator Andrei Zhukov said.
