Even entire insurance industry can't cover catastrophic AI incidents, Anthropic warns

Anthropic warned in its IPO filing that even the entire insurance industry may lack the capacity to provide cover against catastrophic AI-related incidents. "We may be unable to obtain coverage for certain AI-related liabilities...leaving us exposed to potentially significant uninsured losses," it said. The firm added that its AI models could "behave in ways that no user or developer intended".
