Even your kidney cells form memories: Neuroscientist Kukushkin
Nikolay Kukushkin, a neuroscientist at New York University, said on the podcast that the mechanisms brain cells use to register events work in every cell of the body. "Kidney cells are registering kidney things. Gut cells are registering gut things," he said. A cell can tell apart patterns just minutes long, he added, calling it real memory, not a metaphor.
