Every 3rd fuel outlet must offer clean fuel within 3 yrs: Govt

The government has mandated at least every third fuel retail outlet must offer an alternative fuel within three years of commissioning. Options include CNG, LNG, biofuels, EV charging and battery swapping. Existing outlets must report their alternative-fuel infrastructure within one month and address shortfall within six months. Non-compliant outlets could each face a penalty of up to ₹10 lakh.
