Ex-AAP councillor Tahir Hussain gets life imprisonment for IB officer's murder during Delhi riots

A Delhi court has sentenced ex-AAP councillor Tahir Hussain and four others to life imprisonment for murdering Intelligence Bureau staffer Ankit Sharma during 2020 Delhi riots. Rejecting police's demand for death penalty, Additional Sessions Judge Praveen Singh called the crime's barbarity "nauseating and sickening", but said the convicts weren't beyond reformation and could be rehabilitated.
