Ex-German spy chief arrested over spying for another country
Ex-German spy chief August Hanning has been arrested for allegedly working as a secret service agent for a foreign country. He served as Federal Intelligence Service (BND) chief from 1998 to 2005 and has since been working as a private consultant. The 80-year-old's alleged accomplice, identified as Manfred D, provided Hanning with 2,000 documents, many of which contained classified information.
