Ex-Google engineer’s conviction over AI secrets theft partly overturned

A US federal judge has overturned part of former Google engineer Linwei Ding's conviction, finding insufficient evidence that he knew or intended the stolen information to benefit the Chinese government. The judge upheld the guilty verdict for stealing Google's AI trade secrets. Ding, a Chinese national, was convicted in January for stealing thousands of pages of confidential information.
