Ex-Google exec Matt Brittin named BBC director-general: Report

Former Google executive and Olympian Matt Brittin ​has been named as the ‌BBC's new director-general, The Times reported. Brittin led Google in Europe, Middle East and Africa for a decade until stepping down last year. He will be succeeding Tim Davie, who resigned last year after criticism over a misleading Panorama edit of a speech by US President Donald Trump.
