Ex-Israeli PM Bennett's party backs Eisenkot to form next govt amid political deadlock

Former Israeli PM Naftali Bennett's 'B'Yachad' faction has thrown its support behind Yashar party chief Gadi Eisenkot to form the next government amid a political deadlock following the elections. In the elections, PM Benjamin Netanyahu's bloc won 53 seats overall compared with 48 for opposition parties and 19 for Arab parties. Neither main bloc reached 61 seats required for majority.
