Former top Maoist leader Mallojula Venugopal Rao alias Bhupati will now serve as a coordinator for Gondwana University in Maharashtra for its tribal studies programme. Having been idle since his surrender in mid-October last year, he started exploring employment opportunities in tribal education. His "knowledge and experience" were considered suitable for the post, a university official said.
