Ex-Prasar Bharati CEO Shashi Vempati appointed as CBFC chairman

Shashi Shekhar Vempati, who once led Prasar Bharati as its youngest and first non-bureaucrat CEO, has been named the new chairman of the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). Vempati will be assuming office for a three-year term. On the other hand, Prasoon Joshi, ex-CBFC chair, stepped down from his position and became the chairman of Prasar Bharat instead.
