Former Punjab Police Inspector General Amar Singh Chahal is in critical condition after he allegedly attempted suicide by shooting himself with a revolver at his Patiala residence. He left a 12-page note, which mentioned heavy financial losses due to a ₹8.10 crore cyber fraud, according to Patiala SSP Varun Sharma. Chahal was an accused in the 2015 Kotkapura firing case.
