Ex-SI held in Odisha for ₹10,000 bribe tries to flee by jumping into pond

Odisha Vigilance arrested former Sub-Inspector Sujit Kumar Mohanta in Sambalpur for allegedly accepting a ₹10,000 bribe to settle a case. He attempted to flee by jumping into a pond, throwing the currency notes in water. A vigilance officer jumped in and apprehended him. Additional ₹1,55,700 in unexplained cash was also seized from his room.
