Ex-Vice President Hamid Ansari calls to declare cow the national animal

Former Vice President Hamid Ansari has backed the idea of declaring cow the national animal, stating if the "root cause of the problem" could be finished off, then "that should be done". "Nowhere is it written that you must slaughter a cow, you can slaughter a goat also," Ansari on sacrifice during Eid-ul-Azha. Some Muslim organisations made a similar proposal.
