Ex-Google engineer gets 18 months in prison for trade secret theft

Anthony Levandowski, an ex-engineer for Alphabet's self-driving car unit Waymo, has been sentenced to 18 months in prison for stealing technical information about its self-driving technology. Alphabet, the parent company of Google, sued Uber in 2017 for colluding with its former employee to steal secrets from Waymo. In March, Levandowski pleaded guilty to stealing materials from Google.
