Ex-SGPC chief Jagir Kaur acquitted in daughter's death case

The Punjab and Haryana High Court on Tuesday acquitted former SGPC chief Bibi Jagir Kaur from charges of forcible abortion and abduction of her daughter, who had died in 2000 "under mysterious circumstances". The HC set aside a lower court order sentencing the former Punjab minister to five-year imprisonment. The lower court had, however, acquitted Kaur of murder charges.
