Ex-Sri Lanka Finance Minister Basil Rajapaksa allowed to travel abroad

Sri Lanka's highest court has temporarily lifted the overseas travel ban imposed on former Finance Minister Basil Rajapaksa, the country's anti-corruption body said. He has been ordered to return by January 15, 2023. Basil's brother ex-Sri Lankan President Gotabaya Rajapaksa had fled the country in July amid mass protests. The Rajapaksa family is blamed for Sri Lanka's economic crisis.
