Extortion group ShinyHunters says they breached FBI, stole agents' data

Extortion group ShinyHunters on Tuesday claimed it breached the FBI's systems and stole data belonging to current and former agency personnel. The group said the attack was retaliation for a May 2026 FBI announcement outlining ShinyHunters' tactics and urging victims not to pay ransoms. ShinyHunters also shared what it described as a screenshot of a defaced FBI jobs website.
