Ex-Uber security chief gets no prison time for hiding data breach

Uber's former security chief Joe Sullivan was spared from prison after being found guilty of trying to cover up a 2016 data breach from authorities that affected around 50 million riders and drivers. He was sentenced to a three-year term of probation and ordered to pay a fine of $50,000. Prosecutors had recommended a 15-month prison sentence for Sullivan.
