Ex-Union Minister Dilip Ray sentenced to 3 years' jail in coal scam

A Delhi court on Monday sentenced former Union Minister of State Dilip Ray to three years of imprisonment in connection with the 1999 coal block allocation scam. The scam pertains to allocation of 105.15 hectares of abandoned coal mining area in Jharkhand's Giridih district to Castron Technologies Limited. Ray was Minister of State (coal) in the Atal Bihari Vajpayee government.
