Eye injury forced Mark Boucher to end career with 999 dismissals

Former South African wicketkeeper Mark Boucher retired from international cricket in 2012 with 999 fielding dismissals, the most by a cricketer in history, after sustaining an eye injury. Boucher, who turned 42 on Monday, was hit with a bail in the left eye during a tour match in England. Out of his 999 dismissals, 998 came as a wicketkeeper.
