Facebook, Google should pay news publishers: Rupert Murdoch

News Corporation's Executive Chairman Rupert Murdoch has said Google and Facebook should pay a fee to 'trusted' publishers, just like cable companies. Adding the companies have popularised scurrilous news sources, Murdoch said, the remedial measures they have proposed are inadequate. While payments would have little effect on Facebook's profits, the move will be impactful for journalists, he said.
