Facebook launches self-reported COVID-19 symptom tracking map in US

Facebook, in partnership with Carnegie Mellon University, has launched its first county-by-county map showing presence of self-reported COVID-19 symptoms in US. Data was gathered from a survey of over 1 million Facebook users about their symptoms, which was conducted by Carnegie. The map aims to help the government and health officials allocate resources and recognise which areas can be reopened.
