Faced no pressure from UPA govt during CEC tenure: SY Quraishi

Former Chief Election Commissioner SY Quraishi said he never faced any pressure from the UPA-II government during his tenure. "There was no question of any pressure because the image of Election Commission was such that nobody would dare to approach us," he said. Quraishi also asserted that "the government was always the last to know" when elections would be announced.
