Fake 8th Pay Commission message triggers new cyber scam

Fraudsters are targeting government employees with WhatsApp messages about an “early salary hike estimate” under the 8th Pay Commission. The message contains a fake calculator link that installs a malicious APK. Once downloaded, it grants hackers remote access to steal personal data and make unauthorised bank transactions. Officials urge verification only through official government websites.
