Fake desi ghee racket using turmeric for colour busted in Gujarat

Gujarat Police busted a fake desi ghee racket in Surat and arrested a local operator for manufacturing and selling the adulterated product. The accused mixed inexpensive vanaspati with soybean and palmolein oil, heated the mixture and added turmeric powder to give it a yellow colour, police said. Around 34.05 kg of adulterated ghee, raw materials and equipment have been seized.
