Fastest star in Milky Way found, travels at 25,000 km per second

Scientists have discovered S301, the fastest known star in Milky Way, reaching about 25,000 km per second as it races around Sagittarius A*, the supermassive black hole at the centre of Milky Way. The star completes an orbit in 8.7 years. It was detected with the European Southern Observatory's Very Large Telescope Interferometer.
