Father donates liver to save 8-year-old daughter's life

An 8-year-old girl with a rare inherited genetic liver disease, PFIC 3, underwent a 14-hour transplant at Narayana RN Tagore Hospital, Kolkata, receiving part of her 42-year-old father's liver. The child, who had severe jaundice and liver failure, was discharged after 18 days. Her father recovered and returned to work. Both are now reportedly doing well.
