FB tests digital payments in India with Messenger: Report

Social media giant Facebook has reportedly started testing digital payments in India in a beta version of its Messenger app. Users will be able to recharge mobile phones and other prepaid services including DTH and broadband amongst others, reports claimed. The service is expected to offer peer-to-peer and peer-to-merchant payments and will compete with WhatsApp UPI.
