FBI hacked hundreds of vulnerable US computers to fix malware

The FBI remotely hacked into hundreds of vulnerable computers in the US to remove malicious malware, US Justice Department said. An earlier malicious hacking campaign, which affected Microsoft Exchange Server customers, placed backdoors that could let hackers into those systems again. The FBI used those same backdoors to remotely delete themselves.
