FBI misused intelligence database in 2,78,000 searches: US court

A US court has found that the FBI improperly searched for information in a US database of foreign intelligence 2,78,000 times over several years, according to a ruling released on Friday. The searches occurred in the course of US crime investigations including the 2021 Capitol riots and protests after 2020 killing of African-American George Floyd, Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court said.
