The FBI has been working with US-based National Institute of Standards and Technology to develop a tattoo recognition Artificial Intelligence (AI) system to identify criminals. However, the international non-profit digital rights group, the Electronic Frontier Foundation said that this system could violate the First Amendment rights, since tattoos are considered by many as a form of speech.
