Fed’s Goolsbee says he opposed rate cut due to lack of data

Chicago Fed President Austan Goolsbee said he opposed the December rate cut because he preferred waiting for more data before easing policy. He warned against front-loading cuts and assuming inflation will fade quickly. Goolsbee was one of three dissenters, alongside Governor Stephen Miran and Kansas City Fed President Jeffrey Schmid.
