FIFA cuts operating budget for WC 2026 by over ₹900 crore: Report

FIFA has slashed more than $100 million (over ₹900 crore) from its operating budget for this year's World Cup in North America, The Athletic reported, citing sources. In its 2024 annual report, FIFA projected $1.12 billion for operational expenses in the 2023-26 cycle, out of a total budget of $3.756 billion. The cuts reportedly affect safety, logistics, security and accessibility.
