FIFA prez Infantino to stand for reelection despite backlash over WC stake sale plan
FIFA President Gianni Infantino has reaffirmed his intention to seek reelection despite controversy over scrapped plan to sell stakes in FIFA competitions to private investors. Governing bodies of European football (UEFA), North and Central America (CONCACAF) and Asia (AFC) had called for his resignation amid backlash over the plan. Infantino will seek a fourth term as President in March 2027.
