FIFA World Cup trophy's gold value surges 157% to ₹6.1 crore

FIFA World Cup trophy's gold content is now worth around ₹6.1 crore, up 157% from ₹2.4 crore during the 2022 tournament, according to LSEG. The trophy is made of 6.175 kg of 18-carat gold, including 4.93 kg of pure gold. Notably, when the current trophy design was introduced ahead of 1974 tournament, its gold content was worth around ₹21.5 lakh.
